Next Steps

 Deciding to pursue counseling is a difficult decision for many people; it requires a degree of risk, humility, and a step into the unknown--which can be very uncomfortable.  However, should you decide that the cost is worth it (which it is!!), and that Kainos Counseling and Consultation seems to be a place where you can begin or continue your journey towards abundant life, here are some steps you can take to begin the process:

1.  Contact Kainos Counseling and Consultation to schedule an initial consultation.
The initial consultation is an opportunity for us to connect in a relaxed, conversational way in order to determine if working together will  be a fit for both of us.  We will talk generally about presenting issues and treatment goals, go over basic administrative details, and seek to answer any questions you might have about me, my philosophy and clinical orientation, and/or the counseling process in general with the hopes that you will be able to walk away with a fairly good idea of whether or not you are interested in pursuing the journey of renewal with Kainos Counseling and Consultation.  There is no charge for this consultation, and no commitment at this point.  If it is apparent that Kainos Counseling and Consultation is not the right fit for you, I will be happy to refer you to another clinician who may better suit your needs.

2.  Look over and complete the opening paperwork.
If you decide to proceed, prior to your first appointment you will receive an invitation to the Simple Practice client portal (and possibly additionally to the Headway portal, depending on your insurance), where you will be able to complete all necessary opening paperwork prior to your first appointment, to upload your insurance and billing information, and to ensure that everything is set up in advance administratively for our work to commence.

3.  Prepare yourself for restorative change.
While unfortunately in life there are few, if any, guarantees, it has been my experience that there is no such thing as a hopeless situation, particularly if individuals are ready and willing to be diligent, to persevere, and to make use of all the resources available to them in pursuit of abundant life.  I look forward to journeying together with you!
